Can stress cause ulcers?

like the argument between, "if you get a cold from being cold", some people believe that stress causes gastric ulcers. when i did my research on webmd and mayoclinic, it says that it is a myth, and that it does not cause ulcers. they say that it slows down healing only. please help.
