Help with the hero of my contemporary cowboy romance novel? Serious answers only please...?

So the heroine (Lily) of the story works on a her families vacation luxury ranch in the mountains of Colorado. I have twisted it around so that she is the cowboy instead of the hero. So Im not sure how the Lily and the Hero (Josh) should meet. Should I have Josh be someone who comes to the ranch for a vacation? Or should I have him be an old friend who happens to live in town (its a small town) and he comes to the ranch in the summers to help out? Im trying to think of how to incorporate the hero into the story. The story is supposed to be full of support characters like friends and family if that helps any. Can you all help me brainstorm please? Thanks in advance!

Get a medium/large size dog to keep outside and take it for walks and stuff. Don't just leave it out there and ignore it. I have found out where my family roots started, both of my grandfather's kept up on this, and are now dead, so I am just trying to find out what kind of people my ansestors were, and if that has anything to do with my attitudes, now. I know groups of people became so intermixed with other groups of people, but, this was not the usual case in our family, as they, many of them were from these countries themselves, recent immigrents. You will need warm boots that are waterproof at least on the lower part of the uppers or at the very least something like a big pair of wellies with warm wool sox in them, maybe two pairs at once. A set of poly prope longjohns that fit under your jeans would be cheapest, maybe one bottoms and two shirts if you will wear them all day every day. A lot depends on what activities you plan to do. Some sort of snow pants or snow mobile suit if you plan to toboggan, snow shoe, x-country ski or the like. A good pair of mittens made for snow sports and a hat with ear flaps or ear muffs or you could put a hoodie under your jacket. Check out the resale stores you may find some real bargains as folks often get new stuff for Christmas and put the old stuff in Goodwill to get it out of the closets. If you will be winter camping then that is a whole nother list and too long to go into. Ask your friend who invited you if they have any loaner stuff you could use. How can someone acquire 6,700 plus points by only answering 58 question ? by my calculation thats is well over 100 points per answer, Now uming this person has their finger on the metal and has recieved 58 BA.'s=10 points ( a 100% striike rate )and has recieved the maximum amount (50 ) ticks =1 point allowable on each answer he/she would still only acquire approx 3,500 points. I challange you all this minute to go to the overall points tally statistics to verify this fact. How do you effectively set boundaries without offending inlaws?

It's gotten to the point where my in laws need help to do the everyday things. My husband and I are just starting our life together. He gets bombarded with calls from his parents; everything from weekly dinner invitations to repairs that need to be done. He was brought up to believe he has to take care of them in their old age. Well, were there and he will not set the boundaries with them. How can I tell them what we can and cannot do for them? We simply do not have the time to do everything they ask from us. He is fearful any kind of refusal will be taken as an unwillingness to help them and he will be a "bad" son. I need to be able to communicate this to them w/o straining my or my husband's relationship with them because its straining our marriage.

My amp gets REALLY hot...is that bad?

My amp gets scortching hot really quick. One time I actually severly burned myself touching it. After playing it for about 1.5-2 hours straight, it'll usually just stop working (protect mode?) and start working again about a half hour later. Is this normal? Please only informed opinions about my diabetic cat -- could you, please?

I have a 7-year-old Bengal who has chronic virus in his eyes and respiratory system that he picked up when he was seriously ill as a kitten. He's managed to go along fairly happily all his life with good care. In January, he was diagnosed as diabetic, and he is getting 1.5 units of vetsulin twice daily and a diabetic (high protein with fiber added) diet. His blood glucose tests are good. This is a cat that has weighed 18 pounds when he was a little overweight, and he is now down to 12 pounds (very bony looking). He constantly begs for food, but then will eat only a few bites. He doesn't much like the diet dry food (combination of Purina DM and Purina high-fiber), but will try to steal my rescued kitten's kitten chow (but even that, he'll only snack at if he manages to get some). He has very loose stools (this is what the additional fiber was supposed to help with), and I haven't been able to put any weight on him, even with giving him a tablespoon of high protein canned food he likes several times a day. I would really appreciate any serious advice. PLEASE don't tell me to take him to the vet. He has been to the vet too much (and she is a very good vet). Short of having him undergo major expensive tests like full body scans, they can't think of anything else.

i work on a dementia/Alzheimer's unit and i know how hard it can be for a family to confront the illness there is a lot of guilt and denial involved. however it is important that you speak to her about your concern because there are a lot of medications out there that can keep the disease from worsening at a rapid rate. without medication it can get bad fast. the illness is genetic so it wouldn't be far-fetched to think that it could be early signs. just be as sensitive as you can when bringing it up because it is a very difficult thing for someone to accept. you don't want to find her wandering the streets because she forgot where her home is or have her start a fire while trying to cook. those are stories i hear quite frequently from families when new residents come to the home. so protect her by at least getting her to see the doctor for some tests. i am sorry that you are dealing with this it can be very difficult.

Heart palpitations and possible anxiety? Help?

Recently I have had heart palpitations, been feeling light headed and also felt twitches. I struggle to get to sleep and when I do I have a jerk that wakes me up. After seeing the doctor he said its probably anxiety related. The thing is I haven't been feeling anxious. I explained this but he said anxiety can sneak up on you from worries on a subconscious level. With me moving to university its an explanation, however am usually laid back and cool about things such as this. Tomorrow am going for a heart scan and a blood test. I was just wondering is this anxiety, and would just like a like information on it. Thank you

I think dislocated my knee cap. What do I do now? ?

I turned into my couch, twisted my right to the inside, something fell apart cause it hurt and I fell to the grounf, whatever it was popped back into place. It's been 12 hrs since. I have no ice, no brace. Can't go anywhere for a few more hours or even a day. My knee was feeling only a little sore 1 min after the twist. I started readi g up and put it in a extended position. I was able to stand/ walk on it to get food 20 minutes after. Then it started hurting. Now its loaded with fluids around the knee area. I have it slightly raised on the edge of the couch. Bending it relieves pain. But I can't bring it in to the back of my thighs . Near there it hurts. Extended it hurts a small amount constantly. Now, what should can I do? I also want to know if this cqused irreversible damage to my leg makjng me unable or hindered at sports. Mainly airsoft and weapon martial arts ( german longsword ). It's the handicap of permanent damage that scares the hel l out of me. Losing15% of ky leg strength and being susceptible to more of these painfull, time wasting, strength shrinking events.

To me it seems that you are eating a lot of sugar. Sugar in your diet would be in the milk, protein bar and fruit juice. Cut back on that. I suggest you have 2 fruit a day, 1 bread (1 slice=1 full bread serving) a cup of cereal = 1 serving, 16 oz of vegetables a day with minimal dressing if desired, 7 oz protein/day (I know you are vegetarian but tofu as well as beans are sources of protein) as much jello as you want. Keep up with the exercise and drink AT LEAST 10 gles of water a day!! Dont drink too much caffeine ( 1 cup of coffee a day is plenty!) I do this everyday, and dont even excercise and I have lost 10 pounds/month!!! I hope this works out for you!

I was diagnosed almost six years ago with depression and was put on Zoloft which worked perfectly for six years. Last year however, it started to stop working and since then, I've developed Panic Disorder, GAD, and Depression (again). Why do boxers of today have so few fights compared to the olden day fighters?

Early on in a boxers career these days he might have a fight every two months. The top fighters of today, however, have around 2-3 fights per year and if they're lucky may finish with 50 fights. If you look at the records of the fighters of the past centuries they had around 150-200, some even surping the 300 mark. And in those days there was no round limit. What is the reason for the difference today? Is it down to the boxers physical condition? Is it down to money? Is it down to the IBA? Surely if they fought like every two months or so at least then there going to earn more money, the primary reason they are in the game. It's not like some of these even go 12 rounds. Some of the top guys go in and KO the opponent in two rounds or so. Yet he still waits 4-6 months until his next fight. Another question I have is when did it get to the way it is today? How to clean vinyl floor?

Not sure whether its vinyl or linoleum, my guess is vinyl since house was built in 04. we bought in 07. anyway, the kitchen floor has like a waxy sticky buildup, i think the prev owner waxed, which i dont think youre supposed to do! ive tried pine sol, some degreasers. the only thing that has worked so far has been taking a green scotch brite pad and scrubbing tile by tile, but that is going to take forever! everything is sticking to the floor, cant even hardly move the chairs around. suggestions?? no money for new floors yet....

Changing my guinea pigs' bedding from Carefresh to fleece!?

My little girl piggie, Wendy, won't stop sneezing for the past 2 days! I change her bedding every two days and put a fresh handful of Timothy Hay and some pellets for her to eat. But in the past 3 days, I'm getting closer to the end of the bag of hay so the peices of hay are almost like sawdust. I think that she was breathing that in and it caused her to sneeze so much. I try to check her paws and nose for drainage but she wipes it all off of her nose before I can check it, and refuses to let me touch her feet. I've been using newspaper under her bedding for about 4 days now. I don't know if the smell of it could have affected her, but my other guinea pig, Stretchy, hasn't sneezed or anything. But Wendy has been sneezing very often and very loudly also! So I'm thinking about changing from Carefresh bedding to Fleece. What are the advantages and disadvantages of fleece? And how do i clean it?

nice, 8.5/10 good deck but why 3 nitro warriors and only 2 nitro synchron? if you can't summon it there is no point in having the card in your deck. also next time leave a space between your monsters, traps, spells......ect. because at first i looked at the page (i didn't look at the cards in detail) and thought "huh??!! , a deck made entirely of synchros?" but apart from that its not a bad deck at all! :)

Okay sweetheart, just breath..... You are okay, I promise. :0) I'm gonna address each issue you're concerned about: first off, your sore stomach is more than likely due to anxiety. The more we worry about things, the more stomach acid we produce and that causes an upset stomach (constipation or diarrhea, or bouts of both). Start taking ONE over-the-counter acid reducer like Prilosec. It's a huge help to keep your stomach calm, also...try to stay away from greasy, spicy foods and sodas as these items will just add to your stomach upset). Secondly, hyperVENTilation is what the doctor said you're experiencing...this is also caused by anxiety. Anxiety will speed up your breathing and thus, cause you to ingest more air which will make you "gy"....Prilosec would also help with this symptom. When you feel anxiety-ridden, stop and breath. Concentrate on breathing in through your nose, and out through your mouth.....Count to 10 as you breath in, and then count to 10 as you breath out. Simply slowing your breathing will calm you down. The phlegm your constantly coughing up is more than likely due to a seasonal allergy. An over-the-counter mucolitic (mucous reducer) like Muscinex will ist with alleviating these issues. When we cough a lot, or have an irritated throat/upper respiratory (lung) irritation we can cough up pink-stained phlegm, even blood red streaks in our phlegm...it is normal. IF you ever cough up deep, dark, large amounts of blood then that would be a time to get concerned. You absolutely have an anxiety disorder and I would suggest you ask your parents to take you to a therapist. I don't say that to be mean, but I am concerned that you are worrying your life away... You are so young. You should be happy and carefree...Not worrying about non-existing health concerns. Try to refocus your attention, stop looking on the internet at symptoms and freaking yourself out.

Just Diagnosed, Adenoma Carcinoma in Situ?

If I have Adenoma Carcinoma In Situ of the Cervix what are my chances of it turning into Cancer Cancer, and the chances of it spreading to other parts of my body. I know I am getting a Cone Biopsy in a few weeks and that I will eventually, if not right away, have to get a hysterectomy. My fear is of it spreading because I have heard it travels to other parts of your body easily. Just found this out so a little shaken.... my situation is a lot like yours, i loved my ex boyfriend (whom was also my best friend) since i was in elementary school but of corse he started dating one of my close friends. while they were dating both of them always went to me for advice, what they should do together and how to fix their problems and everything. but one day everything started going wrong between them, he would tell her his problems and she would compleatly reject him and acted like he didnt matter, although what caused him all this pain was her ignoring him and hanging out with the only guy he didnt like. she said she didnt care about him and she hated how much he over reacted and ended up dumping him.then she goes for my recent ex boyfriend (who dumped me)even after my objections.well of corse after what this girl did she was no longer my friend anymore. seeing my best friend sad like that broke my heart and i decided to confess my feelings for him. we started to go out, everyone said we were perfect for each other, we had a great but short relationship. after my best firend broke up with me i soon figured out there was a reason behind it. he told his ex girlfriend (and my ex best friend) that he was still in love with her, and she told him she felt the same way. after hearing this i thought my heart was going to break into a million pieces. i warned him about her so many times, that shes just going to do the same and break his heart again and again. but of corse he didnt belive me.but one day he comes to my door at 11 pm (he lived in the same area as me) and told me that this girl (my ex best friend) said she changed her mind and didnt want to date him. on the verge of tears he tells me he was sorry, that he made a mistake, and that he should have lisined to me. he told me he still loved me and i belived him. he wrapped me in a hug and kissed me. just when i thought my heart was mended back together the next day he tells me that it was a whole misunderstanding and that he still loves her. next i hear that in a text message he told her something i told him, she says im a wierdo, he says he agrees. but i know him, he'd never say anything mean about anyone, whats happening? while he ever chose me over her?

Yes it is these dogs are very active and not large at all very smart and will listen to you if you re up to the challenge of training them. they do love exercise so they wont like to be kept inside. their life expectancy is very long since they are a small dog but mainly varies on how u treat them and food and exercise. no no grooming is necessary but maybe bathe him or her once a week if u can to keep ticks and fleas off of them. they will shed a lot so be careful with that. they are fine around other animals if they grow up around them so just make sure too keep them close together as they grow. So overall i do agree on this dog as a good choice for you. Just make sure you're up to the task of training and giving them a lot of attention.

Lawnmower smokes like a chimney!!?

I just bought a used lawn mower. It is non-returnable. It is a 4.2 HP. I prime it & start it and it smokes really bad. Also, it is not running at it's full potential. It will run for about 10 minutes idle and about 2 minutes if you try to mow, all the while smoking like a chimney. I put fresh gas & oil in it before I started it. There is no choke or throttle on it either. Any suggestions would be wonderful!!

Why won't my Pro Tools M Powered record?

First of all: this isn't my first rodeo with pro tools. I used to use LE, but I've recently down-sized my studio and started using an M-Audio interface. So naturally, I bought M Powered. I created the track, record-enabled it, and all of my connections are correct. For some reason, it shows up in the mixer when I play into it, but when I record it doesn't record the sound. I can hear it through my monitors and headphones and it registers on the mixer in pro tools. Why won't it record?

Went on July 4th weekend 1996 ,watched fireworks from beneath Washington Monument. It was so crowded and distracting couldn't enjoy it. did visit theSmithsonian, you really need a whole day to see what it has to offer. Visited museum of Natural History,interesting. My advice though is not to go on a holiday ,too crowded. The best time we had was when we left and spent a cupla days at Virginia City. It was fun and relaxing.

What is the correct way of writing up your CV.? Every time I write up a CV someone tells me is wrong, some say it has too much info, that employers can’t be bothered to read all your CV especially when they get hundreds at a time. Now my latest adviser has brought up a complete new system where I practically have to fill up all 2 pages explaining each point I have given in immense detail even why I have gaps in between the years. Is this really necessary? Don’t employers want a simple but presentable CV rather than my autobiography? What is the correct way of writing up a CV?
