My cat is 13 years old. Last night we noticed he had a lot of mucus drainage around his mouth.?

He has lost weight but has always done that in the summer. We also noticed last night that his mouth was moving up and down involuntarily. It doesn't do this all of the time. He is an indoor cat and never goes outside.
