Pirchupai(?)in Lithuania scene of macre in WW2? Grateful for any information.?

A Wehrmacht unit was ambushed near P and several German soldiers were killed. As a reprisal 52 villagers were killed for not informing the Wehrmacht of this ambush, the preparations for which the villagers must have been aware. Any idea what really happened?
