What result would come?

to an athiest if what they were studing was suddenly taken from them and they were left with blindness and deafness and speachless. would the athiest know then what has been left but a memory of life the way it was, would that be proof of hell to the athiest? what direction would the athiest search for after all that was known of the life known , was no more? thank you.
