I need a theme that follows two books that I read this year.?

well the crucible and hamlet seem like their theme could have something to do with deception. In the crucible chaos erupted because on of the girls and john would not confess of their former affair. Because of the deception, many hangings were given as a result of the big witch scare they started. The deception continues in hamlet, when hamlet's uncle kills his brother for the thrown, chaos ignites inside of hamlet. because of this everyone in the royal family dies and their country's enemy, gets the crown. deception and the losses that result from it could be a common theme between these two stories.
