Building a concrete patio?

My patio is going to be about 10’ X 8’ (at ground level) and I was wondering if I can make just one large concrete slab, if I would have to cut it into several sections after it cures, or if I will have to pour it into several smaller slabs. I am trying to avoid cracking due to snow, rain, ice…etc. I also don’t want to create more work, for myself, than I have to.
